My To-Do List

I am constantly making to-do lists. I make them for work and for things that I have to do in my personal like. That being said, I don’t always get everything on the list done. There is something psychologically satisfying when I am able to take my pen and cross an item off my list.

I am sitting in my booth at lunch and I overhear a conversation. No, I am not eavesdropping. The guy is talking so loudly that he is almost advertising his conversation. He is talking about a woman’s perfume and how he loves it. Alluring is the word he used.

This leads me to the idea that I have yet to find a perfume for me. Yes, I use cheap body spray, that I think is great, but I don’t have a signature scent.

Today, I am adding “find my signature perfume” to my personal today list. I have to delusions that having the right perfume will lead to Mr. Right, but I would love for just one of my attributes be described to someone else as “alluring”.

Hello Monday and hello everyone. It’s been a while I know. I have spent that last two weeks traveling and I am working on my new normal. More on that later.

This week is an opportunity for new things to come into your life, to overcome an obstacle, or to reconnect with someone. No matter what it is for you, enjoy!

Today I got a phone call from a colleague with some questions. Totally normal. During the conversation we began talking about taking work phone calls on the weekends, after work hours, and on vacation days. Previous jobs had me on the phone, in the office, and in the field at all hours. This current job though is not one of those jobs. It is strictly 8-5. There is nothing life or death about this job. That is one of the things that initially drew me to it.

I quickly realized that she wasn’t looking for answers but wanting counseling. She wanted to process the stress and anxiety her job was causing her. I am no longer a counselor, but as a friend, I told her that the job had nothing to do with her stress. She was causing her anxiety. She took a breath and said, “I know but …” I then told her that she was still doing it.

Be careful of the stress that you create. Oh, and don’t call your counselor or ex-counselor friends looking for free counseling.

The Day is Done

end of the day

Did you get everything completed that you set out to do today? Did you accomplish your goals? I will be honest. I did not. I accomplished a lot, but fell short on some things. But it will be alright.

Don’t beat yourself up for falling short. You fell the way you needed to at the end of the day. If you feel that you fell short today, that’s great. You are cognizant and ABLE to change.

Goodnight for now. We’ll try it again tomorrow.

Movies for a mood. Part 2, when you wanna feel scared

Television Magnets

Horror movies are what supposed to be the stuff of nightmares. Taping into our worse fears and filling us with the feeling of dread. A good horror movie knows how to use everything to its advantage, from the music, to the slow build of tension with images that invade your dreams and the thrill of figuring out who’s the possible next victim, which lets face it in some movies is a little too easy to figure out.

So with that said let’s turn off the lights, get under the sheets and cuddle up with your partner because these are not movies you should be watching alone.

The exorcist

“What an excellent day for a exorcism.”

Based off a true story of a real exorcism of a boy named Roland doe the movie certainly has its creepy weird images to stick in your head long after the films ends. With images…
